Ladies & Gentlemen, Please Take Your Seats
by Mike Francen

"You prepare a table for me in the presence of my enemies ..." (Ps. 23:5).

Many today seek refuge inside the four walls of their church. Surrounded by saints singing praises to the Most High, they cling to another psalm which says, "Do not gather my soul with sinners" (Ps. 26:9). How is it that so many seem oblivious to the world around them and the appointment of cause to their lives?

We do not partake of the world's ways, but we must not forsake those whose eternity is trapped but not yet solidified.

Sinners do not go to church. Thus, Christ commands us to "Go into the highways and byways and compel them to come in." We revel in the comfort of friendly sanctified faces. Yet His marching orders send us into their world.

Face the fear of the personal witness. Share your faith. Some must accept the challenge and dare to tread upon enemy territory. Apparent disaster is the doorway to opportunity. There, God is preparing a table for you in the presence of your enemies. Exploiting crisis situations He will turn criticism and adversity into food for us to feast upon. God will celebrate you in the presence of your enemies. Who will reach them if not you? Possibly no one.
