NO VOICE MAIL IN
HEAVEN

Am I the only one
who has found that it is nearly impossible to dial a phone number and get
a live person? Am I the only
one who has had to wait as long as 10 minutes to get someone to talk with?
One of the
nation's leading research groups (Barna Research Group)
did a study recently which shows that it is getting harder to reach
a live person even at a church office.
The researchers
called 3,764 Protestant churches during weekday business hours.
No human contact was made in 40 percent of the churches called,
even though multiple calls were placed ... as many as 12 per church. And almost half of those churches had no answering machine
either.
The Group
reported that it takes an average of 2.1 telephone calls to reach a human
being during regular business hours.
Of the calls placed, only one-third were answered by a real person
on the first attempt. For one-tenth of the churches, it took four calls or more to
make human contact.
In
today's busy world it is somewhat understandable that calls are not always
answered immediately. However, the trend is not encouraging.
BUT ... I HAVE GOOD NEWS!!! There
is one call which is always answered.
When we call upon our heavenly Father, and when we pray according
to His Word (in other words, we have the "right number"), we
know that He always hears us (I JOHN 5:14- 15).
I have yet to get a busy signal or a voice-mail instrument.
And, oh yes ... I also have it on good authority that He always
answers Knee-mail.
