Xtreme Talk:
Why Be Positive Toward Teachers When It Isn’t Always Popular To Do That?

Eastman Curtis

You may not believe this, but your teachers are not a tool designed by Satan to make your life miserable. In fact, many of them need Jesus too.

Sometimes it is easy for you as a teenager to forget that your teachers are just people. Teachers have hopes and dreams. Many of them have family problems, and they wonder about God just like you do.

You may think that your teachers would never listen to you if you tried to share the love of Jesus with them, but that isn't true. The key is to build a healthy relationship with them so they will listen. Be respectful and kind, and they will see that there is more to you than just another face in class.

Get the word out. Teach all these things. And don't let anyone put you down because you're young. Teach believers with your life: by word, by demeanor, by love, by faith, by integrity. Stay at your post reading Scripture, giving counsel, teaching. And that special gift of ministry you were given when the leaders of the church laid hands on you and prayed - keep that dusted off and in use (1 Tim. 4:11-14 The Message).

Just follow the counsel of First Timothy 4:12 NIV: Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example. Someday you will wish you had the opportunity to impact some of the most influential people in our nation - our educators - so make the most of the opportunity you have with your teachers today.
