Fear
or Faith - It's Your Choice!
Daiscia
Merritt
"The fear of the wicked, it shall come upon him: but the desire of
the righteous shall be granted" (Prov. 10:24).
Fear is faith in things that contradict God's Word. It's faith in a bad
report. Wicked doesn't refer to mean, evil people - but rather, to those
who are crooked, contrary, or conflicting - those who speak or believe
those things that contradict God's Word.
We are the righteousness of God when we are in Him (2 Cor. 5:21).
Obviously, if we are in Him, we're walking after the Spirit and not the
flesh, and then we'll be in line with His Word, not contrary to it.
So, here's the Daiscia's translation - If we speak or believe something
that doesn't line up with God's Word, we may build faith for it (or be in
fear of it) - which will cause it to happen. However, if we believe the
report of the Lord, those desires SHALL be granted (not might, and not the
need…the desire SHALL be granted).
Fear or faith - what we believe in and speak, we will have (Mark
11:22-25).
Example: if someone goes to the doctor because they experience bad
feelings in their body and gets a bad report from the doctor - and if they
become afraid - then they are putting faith in the bad report. And it will
come upon them (Jonah 2:8; Job 3:25).
However, since God's Word says we WERE healed, (1 Peter 2:24; Ps. 107:20;
Prov. 4:18-20), and since we're the righteous in Christ to believe God's
Word over our feelings or circumstances, then that desire for good health
SHALL be granted.
It's our choice whether to believe a lie of the devil or to believe a
true, almighty, living God who loves us and cannot lie. |
